See what goes into a website quote.

The number of pages is an incomplete way to price a website. Five pages with new content, a booking connection and a careful migration can involve more work than a larger site built from organized, approved material.

Ask what is ready and what must be created.

Useful source material includes current service information, permitted photography, brand assets and actual work evidence. Someone still needs to organize, write, review and approve the content.

A proposal should say who supplies each input and who prepares the finished page. “Content provided by client” can hide substantial work if no one has agreed what that means.

Identify the parts that change the scope.

Use these questions to make two proposals easier to compare.

Structure and content
Are the offer and page hierarchy settled, or do they need investigation?
Design and build
Which page types and responsive states are included?
Migration
Which existing URLs, files, forms and accounts need to keep working?
Connections
Does the site interact with booking, payment or customer systems?
Handover and upkeep
Who can edit it, who maintains it and which recurring costs remain?

Use the starting price correctly.

At byImprint, a focused project starts at CA$2,500. That can be an agreed improvement to a site or customer journey. It is not a fixed price for every complete website. A full build receives its own scope and quote.

Ongoing partnerships start at CA$3,000 a month and include 12 hours of direct work. Agreed software costs and applicable taxes are additional. See Pricing for the current terms.

Compare the total arrangement.

Ask about hosting, domain control, paid services, content licenses and support. Check which costs already exist and which the proposal adds. Know what happens if you choose another provider later.

A cheaper build may be a sensible choice when it meets the requirements. It may be incomplete if migration, accessible forms or the content needed to explain the offer have simply been left out.

Tie the scope to a real customer path.

Choose a representative service and follow it from discovery to enquiry. Specify what a visitor must be able to understand and do, then test those actions before handover.

If the existing website can meet the requirement through a precise repair, compare that option too. The useful outcome is a maintained website that supports the business, not a larger page count for its own sake.
